I should add for completeness to the above that when you purchase the Krypton suite you get all of the source code for that suite (and the toolbox components which you refer to). With other companies you have to pay extra for the source code.

I do not work for nor am I related in any way to the guy that runs Component Factory. I am just a very happy bunny in respect of the value that his solution represents.

Your comment about the Krypton Suite "costing a fortune" is a little unfair. The company I work for have recently been reviewing the options for obtaining a suite of components for providing dockable Windows a la the Visual Studio experience, and Component Factory came out streets ahead of the competition on price. You can normally expect to pay $2000 or more for such components, whereas for the Krypton suite it was $499 - with one years support built in. The value for money option with Component Factory speaks volumes for the company.

Can we make use of the same in Web applications.

Nice post Vivek. I have a question. Do you know what does the FreeImage library do to images in order to reduce the size? Did you verify the image quality after you reduced them, by loading the images in Photoshop or AcdSee or any other image manipulation program apart from Windows Picture viewer? The reason I am asking this is, if reducing the size is so simple, why havent the loss-less compression algos for images figured this out? Or have they? Just my 2 cents. But great job man, to write something like this in an afternoon is indeed quite an achievement :) Keep up the good work.

I am tempted to think if this is indeed a bug on Yahoo's web server. Given that the delete button is an Ajax request, I would assume that something wacky is going on at Yahoo. Or it could even be that your local ISP is serving out the 502 error page as the ajax response (notice that you still have your other parts of the Yahoo UI still intact). It could be very well that the ISP has its 502 error pages stripped right out of IE's error page(which is as ridiculous as that sounds). I am almost sure that this is not a firefox issue. In any case, this does give ample food for thought.

PS: Don't you use Chrome? Or did you try it and not like it?

If you think that guy in the link is ranting check out http://steve-yegge.blogspot.com. He is an amazing writer and works for Google, but that guy just writes too much, I mean so much that I stop half way in between in desperation.
